Push From God

Bible readings by occasion

For when you have to choose something for a particular moment rather than browse by how the week has gone. Every passage quoted in full, in both translations, with a note on when it fits and when it doesn't.

Occasion, not mood

These sit alongside the verses by situation pages, which are organised round what kind of week someone is having. The difference is practical: verses for grief is for a person carrying something. A reading list is for a person who has to stand up on Thursday and say words out loud.

More occasions are being added — funerals, weddings, christenings and graduations are next.

Questions

What are these reading lists for?

Choosing something to read, say or use at a specific moment — a funeral, a wedding, a christening — rather than browsing by mood. Every passage is quoted in full in modern English and the King James, both public domain, so you can reproduce any of it without permission.

Can I use these in an order of service?

Yes. The World English Bible and the King James Version are both in the public domain. No permission is needed and no fee applies, though naming the translation is good practice.
